GeoSync Pro uses ip-api.com to resolve the visitor's IP address to a country. The result is cached in the visitor's session for 1 hour, so subsequent page loads don't trigger additional lookups. This keeps the storefront fast and avoids hitting rate limits.

Private and local IPs (127.0.0.1, 192.168.x.x, etc.) can't be geolocated — these visitors fall back to your default currency.

Yes — that's the whole point of the EU rule. Instead of maintaining 27 separate mappings (Austria → EUR, Belgium → EUR, Bulgaria → EUR, and so on), you write a single line: EU → EUR. GeoSync Pro recognises all 27 EU member states and applies the mapping to any visitor from those countries.

You can still add country-specific overrides if you ever need to — for example, an FR → USD rule would take precedence over the EU group for French visitors.

Nothing. Logged-in users always see the currency stored on their WHMCS profile — GeoSync Pro never overrides it based on their current IP. This is deliberate: a paying customer in Mumbai who happens to log in from a coffee shop in Bangkok should still see ₹ pricing, not ฿ pricing.

Auto-detection only runs for non-logged-in visitors browsing the storefront.

You configure a default currency in the admin panel — this is what visitors see whenever country detection isn't possible (failed lookup, private IP, unmapped country). For VPN users, the detected country will simply match the VPN endpoint; GeoSync Pro applies the mapping just as it would for any other visitor.

Yes for the core currency-switching functionality — currency detection and session updates work regardless of template. The "Hide Currency Switcher" feature, however, ships with CSS rules for the built-in Six, Twenty-One, and Nexus templates only.

If you use a third-party template like Lagom, you may need to disable the currency dropdown from your theme's own settings. The plugin will show a warning in the admin panel when a third-party template is detected.

On activation, GeoSync Pro takes a SHA-256 checksum of every addon file and the hook stub, then stores those checksums in the database with HMAC signatures using ionCube-protected keys. On every admin page load, the plugin re-checks the files against the stored baseline — if anything was modified outside of an official update, it flags the change in the sync status panel.

Auto-sync runs the same check and, when changes are legitimate (e.g., after a manual update), refreshes the baseline. Every sync — manual or automatic — is logged.

GeoSync Pro checks for updates once a day via the WHMCS cron, so the admin panel always shows the latest version. You can also click Check for Updates manually at any time. When an update is available, click Update Now — the plugin downloads the release zip, backs up the current installation, extracts the new version, runs the integrity sync, and reloads.
